Half life

The half life is defined as the time required for the amount or the concentration of the drug in the body to decrease by one-half (50%).

When the elimination process, follows zero-order kinetics, the half life will depend on the amount of drug, and also on the zero order elimination rate constant.

Zero order elimination

For zero order elimination, the time required for the amount of drug in the body to decrease from 100 mg to 50 mg is longer than the time required for the amount to decrease from 50 mg to 25 mg
