Average Concentration at Steady State

The average drug concentration at steady state is dependent on the dosing rate (FD/τ) and the total body clearance.

Different dosing regimens that have the same dosing rate should achieve the same average concentration at steady state.

For Example:

250 mg every 2 hours

500 mg every 4 hours

750 mg every 6 hours

1000 mg every 8 hours

Should produce the same average concentration at steady state.
