Instructions:

  • a-  This is an online, self-instructional, interactive pharmacokinetic tutorial that can run using computers or mobile smart devices.

  • b-  The tutorial consists of 23 modules that cover the basic pharmacokinetic concepts.

  • c-  Each module consists of three parts, the concept presentation, the simulation exercise, and the self-assessment questions.

  • d-  The concept presentation part includes an introduction to the pharmacokinetic concept using graphs, simulations, and minimal amount of text to illustrate the concept.

  • e-  The simulation exercise allows changing the values of one or more of the pharmacokinetics parameters then simulates the plasma concentration-time profile. This is important to visualize how the change in each pharmacokinetic parameter affects the overall drug disposition in the body.

  • f-  The self-assessment questions consist of a set of multiple-choice questions related to the presented concept.

  • g-  Definitions of terms of mathematical equations can be obtained by clicking on the equations. Background information about concepts is obtained by clicking on the blue colored text, and you can exit the program by clicking on the exit bottom.

  • h-  The initial portfolio describing these modules was selected as one of the winning portfolios in the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy (AACP) Council of Faculty Innovation in Teaching Competition.
