The effect of CLT on AUC

AUC t= ∞t=0 =

CLT

The AUC is inversely proportional to the CLT after administration of the same dose, when the drug elimination follows first order kinetics (linear pharmacokinetics).

Administration of the same dose of a drug to a group of patients (different CLT) produces AUC s that are inversely proportional to the CLT (i.e. higher clearance results in lower AUC).

Dose= 1000mg

CLT (L/hr)

Also, administration of the same dose of different drugs to the same or different patients produces AUCs that are inversely proportional to the CLT (i.e. higher clearance results in lower AUC).
